Your Role and Responsibilities
Tools Implementation Specialist is an exemplary specialist in tooling integration & implementation in his/her areas of practice. They bring deep experience and strategic insight spanning across Common Enterprise technologies such as Windows, Linux/Unix & Cloud to client facing solution skills which are among the best in the industry. This role is crucial to realizing cutting edge Hybrid Cloud Capabilities and Solutions for clients worldwide specially using Cloud technologies. The role would involve working with highly skilled infrastructure architects and deployment specialists in taking up challenging internal IBM projects in order to develop and execute complex solutions for IBM clients worldwide. In conjunction with key technology leaders, the Tools implementation specialist would also provide guidance to the larger global Community of Practice (CoP) in their area and drive important community supported projects. He or she will prioritize building critical intellectual capital that may eventually be leveraged by the wider IBM audience through development of best in class reusable assets often using bleeding edge technologies on “First of a Kind” projects.

Excellent practice and knowledge on Cloud based software development and tools, consummate thought leadership, constant innovation and contribution to development of industry standards would be some of the key result areas in addition to meeting business metrics for the respective areas.

• In conjunction with key technology leaders, the Tools implementation specialist would also provide guidance to the larger global Community of Practice (CoP) in their area and drive important community supported projects
• He or she will prioritize building critical intellectual capital that may eventually be leveraged by the wider IBM audience through development of best in class reusable assets often using bleeding edge technologies on “First of a Kind” projects.
• Articulate market problems to the broader offering team and packaging considerations.
• Develop and execute roadmaps, business models and go-to-market plans.
• Drive customer validation through beta programs and client meetings, confirming requirements are addressed by the delivered solution.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• 7+ years of IT experience,
• Lead the Design, Implementation of Tooling solutions of Organization’s Enterprise Computing and Cloud Computing Solutions providing High Performance Services with focus on one or more of:
• Must have experience in one or more of Hyperscalers – AWS, Azure and Google plus VMware technologies.
• They should have skills in tooling Microsoft, Open Source tooling for global client needs. This role is crucial to realizing cutting edge On-Prem, Hybrid and Multi-cloud Capabilities and Solutions for clients worldwide.
• Bachelor’s degree (or above) in Computer Science or related fields.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of other Cloud Providers e.g., IBM, AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform, or VMware
• Cloud Management Platforms - Design and implement a robust cloud management implementation including orchestration and catalog capabilities.
  

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

• Exposure and good understanding in core tenets to be considered when designing, developing & deploying to a Cloud. Confident enough to leverage Cloud Platforms. Good Understanding on how to get started on Cloud Platforms. Able to identify the appropriate Cloud Platform products to use for popular architectural patterns. Good understanding on managing applications at scale and how Cloud could address each of the problems faced when designing for distributed scalable applications that are deployed across regions, Micro services, Decoupling, Self-healing, Testing & Security compliance.
• Cloud Infrastructure and Platform Services - Design and implement cloud infrastructure services to support rapid application deployment.
• Compliance - Integrate compliance and data regulatory requirements into all solutions.
• Multi-tier architectures: Load Balancers, Caching, Web Servers, Application Servers, Networking and Databases.

About Business UnitThis position currently sits within Global Technology Services (GTS) Infrastructure Services (IS) or a shared services function supporting GTS.
