The Lighthouses are run through a public-private partnership that empowers the Government, Corporates, NGOs and Citizens to work together towards changing lives. The provision of location and capital expenditure for the Lighthouse centres is taken care of by the Government. Corporates contribute through CSR funds to provide operational expenses. NGOs come on board to provide various skilling courses to the youth. With penetration in more than 400 of the 500 odd slum communities of Pune, the program has now expanded to other cities viz. PCMC, Dombivali, Aurangabad and also States viz. Delhi, Odisha, and Hyderabad.

The State Head will lead and drive the Lighthouse operations for Maharashtra state and meet the Agency, skilling and livelihood targets inline with the donor and government partners . They will establish the Lighthouse program such that youth from target communities experience a best in class learning experience. The State Head will set up systems and structures for the teams to establish the culture of learning and safe space across all Lighthouse units. State Head will develop and manage all stakeholder relations including skilling and placement ecosystem, donors, Government and political wings and volunteers. The ideal candidate would be someone who is motivated and passionate in working with the underprivileged youth and likes working towards their betterment, has experience in managing a large team size, handled centres in various capacities and has exposure to working with various stakeholders. Roles and responsibilities:

  • Independently lead Lighthouse centres for enabling thousands of youth from the nearby communities to be formal jobs/self-employed
  • Develop and maintain a conducive environment at the centre that enables learning and a feeling of safe space for youth
  • Implement the foundation program such that the youth builds ‘agency’ and over time does not need to depend on the Lighthouse Source
  • Manage Centres in the region for timely deliverables and high-quality outcomes for all of the stages of the program - Community Outreach to Alumni
  • Interfacing with ward – level networks
  • Government (Corporators, Ward Officers, PMC personnel) – for mobilization and other support
  • NGOs – for mobilization and other support
  • Corporates and Establishments – for volunteering, placements and donor/potential donor visits
  • Citizens – for volunteering
  • Manage brand building activities e.g., Events, which are specific to the centre and help with advocacy with the local economy for youth placements.
  • Seek opportunities for partnership with various skilling and placement organisations.
  • Drive and motivate the team towards performance excellence and results.
  • Build a strong culture at the workplace which values integrity, courage, empathy and inclusion.
  • Communicate effectively with high level government partners, political leaders, donor partner, community leaders and key influencers among others
  • Ability to find creative and innovative solutions for program implementation to stay ahead of the curve.

Eligibility:

  • MSW or Post Graduation in any field
  • 10+ years of experience preferably in both social and corporate sectors.
  • Superior knowledge of multiple operational functions and principles, including finance, customer service, production, and employee management.
