Summary / Role Purpose

The Technical Translator is a tech-savvy education enthusiast ready to take on the challenge and wear multiple hats as a translator, facilitator, and project manager. The role is responsible for translating and publishing learning programs for ANSYS software as well as technical documents. This position may involve working closely with translation vendors, content developers as well as Japan technical field teams. This is a strategic & transformative position on how Ansys works with customers across globe to enhance customer experience, committed to the development and localization of Ansys documentation, learning programs.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Translation of technical documents, such as PowerPoints, word documents, web page text and learning programs of ANSYS Software into Japanese. Expected vice versa, Japanese to English as required.

Translation of the User Interface in ANSYS Innovation courses (course.ansys.com)

Collaborating with technical field teams in Japan on prioritization of contents and review of the quality of translations.

Collaborate with Web/IT teams to publish translated content.

Contribute to the development of localization best practices to improve quality and efficiency.

Minimum Education/Certification Requirements and Experience

Bachelors degree in literature

JLTP N1/N2 Certification is a must

A minimum of 5 years of experience in translation of technical documents from English to Japanese

Experience with translation software including translation memories and translation management software.

Excellent written and oral communication skills

In-depth knowledge of translation practices

Good interpersonal skills & detail oriented

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

Masters degree is a plus

Experience with ANSYS software or other engineering software (such as CAD, CAM, CAE) is a plus

Experience with voice recording in Japanese and text-to-speech software
