Proposal Manager

Position Description:
As a Proposal Manager you will have the responsible for managing a team of Proposal Writers responsible for delivering eloquent, persuasive proposals for our public and private sector prospects. The Proposal Managers responsibilities included defining the process and manage the tasks performed by the Proposal Writers for the development and implementation of proposal responses. To be successful as a Proposal Manager, you should be articulate, have excellent written communication skills, and be able to work under pressure to meet demanding deadlines. You must be able to be consistent, detail-oriented, and able to write in a factual, convincing manner.


  • Ability to manage a team of Proposals Writers
  • Ability to define, schedule, and manage the proposal preparation process, ensuring responses are complete and meet all mandatory internal and external compliance requirements
  • Researching, writing, and organizing information in a professional and credible manner
  • Translate solutions into effective business proposals
  • Coordinate and review / edit proposal input from a variety of stakeholders, typically involving contributions from Sales, Marketing, Product, Operations, Finance, Legal and Professional Services
  • Prioritizing team responsibilities to meet deadlines
  • Develop, edit and revise proposals according to feedback
  • Review past Proposals and participate in Win/Loss Analysis activities to increase knowledge and develop best practices for Proposal writing.
  • Prepare process and procedure documentation for the Proposals Team.
  • Mentor and ensure training program are achieved for team
  • Maintaining consistency in proposal writing by following company policies
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, English, Business, or related fields is required
  • 10-14 years of proposal writing experience
  • 8-12 years of experience working in an environment where business is conducted in the English language, including verbal and written communications
  • 3-6 years of experience using a proposal software
  • 8+ years of technical writing experience, preferably while working in the software industry
  • Advanced mastery of Microsoft Word, Excel and SharePoint
  • Experience using online databases like Salesforce, and performing searches on the web
  • 4-6 years of experience managing a proposal writing team
  • Experience working in high-pressure environments
