The Opportunity
Springboard’s mission is to bridge the skills gap by delivering a high-quality, affordable education to anyone who wishes to learn quickly, effectively, and in a way that fits in with their busy lives.

We’re looking for a proactive, organized, empathetic Employee Effectiveness Manager, with 2+ years of experience at fast-growing startups. They will own and support various programs (from immigration to anniversaries to comp & benefits to return to office). You’ll be critical to our daily work and our long-term success (though it’d be impossible to describe what a typical day looks like!) Perhaps it’s best to say that you’re a human Swiss Army knife who can roll with the punches and who takes joy in ensuring that our busy teams are well-equipped for success.

Responsibilities
As Employee Effectiveness Manager, you’ll help create an awesome work environment for the Springboard team — ensuring laptops are provided to all our new joinees, negotiating rates for purchasing equipment or during renewal of rental lease, or planning and executing team offsites in far-flung locations. You’ll do the behind-the-scenes work so that the front of the house is comfortable, welcoming, and outfitted for max productivity.

There are many fun and engaging projects for you to take on from the get-go, plus many more to come as the company continues to grow. Your work will indirectly support an amazing and important mission: of providing the right infrastructural capabilities to do well at their roles. You will also be required to work closely with our Finance and IT teams, and be the bridge between People Ops and other functions for the day to day business activities as well as long term projects on employee development.

Due to the COVID 19 situation, Springboard offices across Bangalore and San Francisco are working remote. Till we go back to work the Employee Effectiveness Manager will be discharging responsibilities by coordination via phone, email or slack. The incumbent will also be taking care of several office related activities such as payment or rent, procurement of laptops from home and collaboration with our insurance partners.

You:

    • bring 2+ years of demonstrated and relevant experienceowning multiple aspects of People Ops at a fast-growing startup
    • are a strategic/analytical thinker with a penchant for problem-solving: you can break down a problem, gather data, identify root causes, work effectively with stakeholders (be consultative; bring data; influence), solve for both examples and systems, articulate a project plan, and navigate multiple viewpoints.
    • are both-brained:empathetic and energized by understanding and helping people; data-driven and aware that "data" comes in both Qual and Quant flavors.
    • take extreme ownership & show an operator’s bias to action: we’re doing big things, so you’ll be tasked with concept-to-completion projects, from planning to execution to documentation. You must be efficient, organized, and invested.
    • possess exceptional communications skills across the board:you will be listening, influencing, coaching, presenting, and writing.
    • have an entrepreneurial spirit. Grit. Resourcefulness. Resilience. Hustle. Agility. Fearlessness. Humility. You get the point.
    • are excited about what we’re building here at Springboard, believe in our vision and mission, and will be a champion for our valueshave a pleasant personality and deal with both internal and external stakeholders with tact and firmness. You can politely say No.
    • are meticulous, detail-oriented, good at prioritizing, unfazed by context-switching and ready to work with minimal supervision.
    • are a team player: empathetic, positive, patient, and calm even under pressure; fit in well with different groups of people; are good at anticipating and addressing needs. You can take direction and feedback well.
    • exhibit energy and a “can-do” attitude;are willing to tackle a range of projects, including new challenges; you own initiatives and juggle multiple priorities and yet not let the ball drop on anything.
    • are well connected with the admin and facilities network and aware of best practices
    • possess great negotiation skills when it comes to pricing and value proposition without compromising on quality.
